Mountains are pretty cool, right? They are scenic. They are majestic. They are a destination. If you have ever driven through the mountains, skied down them, or flown over them, you can attest to their beauty.
Mountains are also very symbolic too. Mountains represent a journey. They represent accomplishment. They represent something great.
Mountains can also represent a challenge. A journey that can change your life in some way or another.
Most people have heard that God can move mountains, figuratively and literally, but have you really put much thought into how amazing that is?
He is capable of all things. He is strong enough to push Mount Everest from one place to another, no matter how firmly planted you think that mountain is. He is also strong enough to get you through whatever battle you are going through this week, no matter what challenges stand in your way. He will carry you all the way to the top if you let him, and that view will be the most beautiful thing you've ever seen!
What would happen if we started praying for God to carry us to the top of the mountain, instead of praying that he'd move it out of the way?
We know that God is more than capable of moving our mountains, our day to day struggles and our impossible battles, but what if we chose to believe that we can walk right through them?
Just imagine how much our perspectives would change! Imagine how much more grateful we'd be if the mountain was completely moved when we were least expecting it!
In order to reach the top of your mountain, you have to put aside all of the things that are less than Him and His power. Tell your depression that its gotta go, tell that feeling of rejection that it is so wrong and you are so loved, tell that shame and guilt that you are forgiven!
When we focus all our attention on the Lord, only his goodness will flow. We have to believe in his faithfulness.
"He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
If you don't know what a mustard seed looks like, then stop right now and google it. For the longest time I had no clue, but when I realized how small they actually were, I was so convicted. My life could've been so different years ago if I knew that little bit of faith was all it took for my life to be forever changed.
So today, whatever battle you may be fighting, don't forget how faithful the Lord is. Praise him through every heartbreak and every struggle. Sing your way out of the lowest valley and up to the top of the highest mountain! With God by your side, it is possible, you will make it through!
"Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done." Matthew 21:21
"So I will praise You on the mountain
And I will praise You when the mountain’s in my way
You’re the summit where my feet are
So I will praise You in the valleys all the same
No less God within the shadows
No less faithful when the night leads me astray
You’re the heaven where my heart is
In the highlands and the heartache all the same" - Highlands by Hillsong United
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you." Isaiah 54:10
"I'm gonna sing my way out of the valley
I'm gonna shout my way up to the mountain
I will take hold of the truth of Your promise
I'm gonna praise, I'm gonna praise
I'm gonna push through 'til every lie crumbles
I'm gonna dance in the midst of the rain
I'm gonna rest in the arms of the Father
I'm gonna praise, I'm gonna praise Your name" - Praise your name by Corey Voss
"In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it." Isaiah 2:2
"There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb" - The Climb by Miley Cyrus
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself." 2 Timothy 2:13
"And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us." 1 John 5:14
