Lead me

Arms opened and heart abandoned.

That is how we, as believers of christ, need to be when it comes to pursuing him.

Giving up all of our problems to the ultimate problem solver.

Learning to let him lead us in our day to day lives can be such a challenge, but oh so rewarding!

Just imagine having absolutely no worries, no fear, no pain. Seems impossible, right?

BUT if we live fully for God and let his spirit lead us, then we can live that way right now!! In fact, that is how he wants us to live.

He hates seeing us struggle, and he is just waiting for you to turn to him and ask for his help.

He is here. He is always here. But just like in any relationship, we have to put in a little effort as well. We have to trust in his almighty strength and have the faith that everything will work out. We have to know that we will be okay, and trust the one who is in control.

Following the commandments of God can seem like a huge task, but it is not one that we have to do on our own. If we ask God to teach us how to love, he will produce that inside of us. He wants us to depend on him. He does not expect perfection. He does not expect us to meet his standards. If God wanted us to be perfect, he would not have sent his son to Earth to die for our sins.

He knows we are imperfect people, living in an imperfect world, but loves us anyway.

While learning to let God lead us, let's not look at his commandments as just another set of rules laid before us to follow. Instead, we should just live for him and love him whole heartedly.

If we focus on loving him, then we won't want to disobey his commands.

Just like in marriage or any relationship, if you focus on loving your husband/wife, then you won't even think about committing adultery, breaking their trust, or doing anything to ever hurt them.

Quit chasing the feelings that lead you down the wrong path. Just because you feel one way, does not mean that it is what God wants.

So, my challenge for you today is to let go of all the weight you've been carrying and trust him. Wait when he tells you to be still. Dive right in when he tells you to jump. Say no to the things he says are wrong. Let him lead you! You will not regret it!!

"Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law." Galatians 2:16

"Trust in the Lordwith all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come." John 16:13

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome." 1 John 5:3

"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19
